- PM Optimizer: find the best configuration, not just test one
- Optimization is built in: Searching for the best setup no longer means bolting on separate optimization software. PM Optimizer runs a whole family of experiments that vary the settings you choose, measure the results you care about, and search for the configuration that wins.
- Define, run, and read the results: Pick the factors to vary and the responses to measure, choose how widely to explore from every combination to a guided search, watch the run live, then read a ranked table with the winner named in plain language and how sure the lead is.
- Read the ranking and keep the winner: Ranked results say honestly when the leaders are tied and replay them with extra replications so a lucky run never fools you, a trade-off view handles more than one goal at once, and Save as Scenario copies a winning configuration into your model, ready to run.
- Build with AI, rebuilt
- Models that run when they are finished: Build with AI now checks its own work against the simulation engine before it hands you a model, and repairs what it finds, so times, routes, resources, and shifts all follow the rules the app enforces instead of being left to guesswork.
- Build and edit in one place: Building a model and refining it now happen in a single window, with progress shown as the model takes shape.
- It builds instead of asking: Describe your process and you get a model, with the assumptions it made listed beside it rather than asked up front.
- Connect a model server on your own computer: Alongside the cloud providers, you can now point ProcessModel at a model running locally.
- Build a daily arrival pattern from your own history
- Paste your own arrival data: Copy a column of date and time stamps out of a spreadsheet, with an optional priority column beside it, and paste it straight into the importer. A hundred thousand rows load without a stall.
- The importer fits the pattern for you: It reads how many arrivals came in on each weekday, fits a distribution to each one, and builds an hour by hour curve from the actual arrival times, so you can accept its choice or pick a different fit per day.
- See the data behind the pattern: A chart shows each weekday’s share of the week, opening any single day magnifies its week to week variation, and a table lists the weekly numbers by week start date. Your imported data stays with the model, ready to review again whenever you reopen it.
- Industry patterns, saved patterns, and growth: Start from a ready made industry pattern, name and save the patterns you build, or enter the arrivals per year you expect and the whole week rescales to match while holding its shape.
- Arrivals land on the right day: A weekly pattern now follows the calendar, so Monday’s arrivals fall on Mondays, and daily totals no longer round short.
- A clearer Output Report
- The report opens with the answer: An Overview names your constraint in plain language, which step, how busy it is, and how many waited and for how long, with a trust banner and a short guide above the tabs that walks you from whether to believe the run to what happens if you change it.
- Bottlenecks, My KPIs, and Experiments tabs: The Bottlenecks tab, formerly Impact Analysis, ranks every wait point by the time it costs and reads each queue’s weekly pattern to name the cause; a My KPIs tab holds the statistics you care about ready to compare; and an Experiments tab weighs your scenarios and says in words what improved, what it cost, and where the constraint moves next.
- Every replication gets its own variable graph: Expand a tracked variable and click any replication to see its own chart, assignment log, and exports, labeled with its number, so a single run’s results never pass for the average.
- Average a variable across replications: Right-click a tracked variable, pick a time bucket, and the report draws the mean across every replication over time, with an optional median, min and max, standard deviation, or a 90, 95, or 99 percent confidence band.
- State percentages that tell the truth: An activity’s Operation, Waiting, Blocked, and Idle percentages now add up to 100, and time held behind a closed schedule or a full station reads as the real share of scheduled time instead of climbing past 100 percent.
- A faster, more accurate engine
- Time units are honored everywhere: A day expression returns days and an hour expression returns hours, a one week delay runs for a week, and a time value the app cannot read now stops the run and names the field instead of guessing.
- Resources stay held across activities: Take a resource in one activity and free it in a later one and the hold now lasts the whole way, so the resource is genuinely tied up in between and utilization reads true.
- Blocked time counts against the item that waited: Time an item spends stuck behind a full station now lands in its Non-Value-Added time and Wait Time, so its time buckets add back up to the throughput time and Process Efficiency reflects a line that is blocking.
- Big models run fast and report honestly: A change to a variable now wakes exactly the work that watches it, so condition-based routing that once crawled runs in seconds with identical results, and a scenario that fails now fails the run instead of reporting a clean success.
- Calendar-accurate schedule connections
- Draw as many schedule connections as you need: One per weekday, or several to the same destination with different windows, so calendar-based routing works the way you draw it.
- Closed windows hold the line where you can see it: When a connection is closed, finished work holds at the activity and everything behind it waits in the input queue, filling on screen through the closed day, then releases at a steady pace when the window opens. Nothing crosses a closed window and nothing is lost.
- The week starts on your Start Day: Set the model to start on a Tuesday and a Monday-only schedule first opens the following Monday, for schedule connections, resource shifts, and activity shifts alike.
- A schedule that can never open stops the run: Pick no days, or point at a calendar that does not exist, and the run refuses to start and names the connection instead of quietly staying open around the clock.
- Gates that control the flow
- Put a gate on a clock, a signal, or downstream demand: Set whether a gate starts open or closed, then drive it with time windows or a shift calendar, an open or close condition, action logic, or a pull or kanban control that releases only when the next step has room.
- Control how many are released and in what order: While a gate is open, release one at a time, a set number, everything at once, or at a limited rate; entities that arrive while it is closed wait in the gate’s own queue in the order you choose, and a queue capacity backs them up upstream when it is full.
- Caseload and the Track Board
- Bind a case to one worker: Give a case its own worker who handles it on every visit, and cap each worker by how many active cases and how much total workload they can carry, with each case able to carry its own weight by something like acuity.
- Watch caseloads during the run: Open the Track Board during a run to see every worker’s load against both limits, who is next in line, and what is holding them up, and open cases hand off automatically when a shift ends.
- Inventory: take, store, and reorder
- Take from and store into stock: A step can take from or store into an inventory, with the quantity a fixed number, a variable, an attribute, or a formula, so an order sizes itself from the entity in hand.
- Stock that refills itself: Set a reorder level, a reorder quantity, and a lead time and stock replenishes on its own, with lead time a distribution or a formula so real supplier variability shows up in your stock levels and stockouts.
- The report closes the loop: Fill rate, backorders, time out of stock, units turned away when storage was full, the value of stock on hand, and holding and ordering cost all carry into saved results and scenario comparisons.
- Action Logic and Process Tables
- Create attributes and variables without leaving your logic: Type a name that does not exist yet and a marker appears; click it once and the name is created with its type worked out from how you used it, and pressing Run while names are missing offers to add them and run instead of handing you a list of errors.
- Arrays gain single-cell increment and decrement: Increment or decrement any single cell, with the right number of indices filled in for a multi-dimensional array.
- Process Tables capture a real decision: A Process Table row now takes a full condition instead of a single test, combining attributes and variables with AND and OR, and matching ignores capitalization so a small difference in spelling still connects.
- Smarter routing on a cleaner canvas
- Routes that steer around your shapes: Routes route around the elements in their way and re-route the moment you move a shape, parallel routes fan apart instead of stacking, corners are gently rounded, and a long route can collapse to a matching labeled marker at each end.
- Resources, decisions, and transitions on a route: Assign a resource to a move the way you assign one to an activity, give a branch point a Decision element with no delay by default, and join two kinds of route directly with a Transition point.
- 30 ready-to-run demo models
- Thirty models across six industries: Healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, contact centers, government, and defense, each built around a single clear problem and the one change that fixes it, opened from File > Demo Models or straight from the Welcome screen.
- Every demo carries a Brief: The business the model is drawn from, the problem it faced, the evidence in the report, and the one change that fixed it, and every demo opens as an unsaved model so the original stays pristine.
- Signing in brings you back to ProcessModel
- The app comes forward on its own: Sign-in opens in your web browser, and ProcessModel now comes to the front as soon as the browser confirms you are signed in, with the license window already showing your account.
- Sign in with your email address: The license window offers email sign-in, so the address on your account is all you need.
- Large models deliver their results
- A year-long run now opens its report: Big models used to finish the simulation and then stall at the very end with nothing to show. The report now opens the moment the run completes.
- Runs with animation off finish faster: With animation turned off, the engine no longer narrates every resource claim and release, so a large run finishes faster and still delivers every number in the report. Turn animation on and the play-by-play returns exactly as before.

- AI-Powered Features
- Build AI: A new dialog-based tool that creates process models from scratch using natural language descriptions, uploaded images (flowcharts, whiteboards, or sticky notes), or pasted lists of process steps.
- Analyze AI: An integrated analysis tab in Smart Stats that utilizes Large Language Models (LLMs) to provide deep insights into simulation results, focusing on throughput time, quantity processed, cost, process efficiency, and resource utilization.
- AI Setup Customization: The installer now includes a checkbox to “Install AI features,” allowing users to exclude these features if they lack internet access or have strict security policies.
- Localized AI Engine Selection: Users can select between different AI “Engine Types” (Fastest, and Faster) to balance processing speed with depth of analysis.
- Re-layout: Added dedicated toolbar buttons to automatically rearrange entire models or selected objects in vertical (top-bottom) or horizontal (left-right) orientations.
- Terminal Auto-Generation: During re-layout, the system can automatically identify unattached routes and connect them to new “Terminal” shapes named “Terminate”.
- Layout Undo/Redo: Full support for standard undo and redo functionality specifically for re-layout actions.
- Full Executable Signing: Major system files and the installer itself, are now digitally signed to improve security and reduce antivirus false positives.
- Modernized UI Icons: Application icons, .spg file icons, and toolbar buttons have been updated with higher-resolution imagery and improved transparency.
- Toolbar Optimization: Reorganized the toolbar with new separators and adjusted spacing to prevent accidental clicks between re-layout and definition buttons.
- Registry Maintenance: The standalone installer now automatically detects and removes legacy “Network” registry keys to resolve conflicts when switching from network to standalone installations.
- Bug Fixes:
- CTL3D32.dll Error: Resolved a critical issue where simulation would fail due to missing system DLLs by ensuring required files are correctly handled in the application path.
- Smart Stats Freezing: Fixed a bug causing Smart Stats to freeze when opening specific models.
- Process Efficiency Target Colors: Corrected an issue where PET (Process Efficiency Target) highlights used the wrong colors; performance meeting targets now correctly displays in green.
- Custom Report Resizing: Fixed a bug where text fields in custom reports would shrink to unreadable sizes after saving and reopening a model.
- Screen Resolution UI Fix: Adjusted anchors for the “Edit Stats” dialog to ensure “OK” and “Cancel” buttons remain accessible on lower screen resolutions (e.g., 1024x768 and 1366x768).
- Variable Tab Exceptions: Resolved a conversion exception in Smart Stats that occurred when selecting “Period 1” in the variables tab.
- Icon Caching on Windows 11: Fixed a known Windows 11 bug where the Smart Stats icon would occasionally vanish from the taskbar.
