What is ProcessModel
ProcessModel is process simulation software. You draw your process as a simple flowchart, add timing, resources, and rules, then run it to watch how it behaves over time, before changing anything in the real world.
Because the model captures variation and contention for resources, it reveals things a static diagram cannot: where work piles up, which resources are the bottleneck, and how long things really take. You can then test a change, more staff, a different route, a larger buffer, as a “what if” and see its effect on time, cost, and throughput, all without disrupting the actual process.
The rest of this guide walks through building, running, and reading a model. A good next step is the workspace and your first model.
LegacyHow this worked in the previous version
ProcessModel is a decision-making process improvement tool that offers the following features:
-
Animates and displays virtual simulations of company processes.
-
Simulates a user’s improvement ideas and delivers decision-making reports.
-
Optimizes the process to find the best solutions using SimRunner.
-
Runs multiple scenarios on the same model to find the best workable scenario.
-
Runs multiple replications to ensure accurate interpretation of statistical data.
-
Converts rows of raw data into understandable and usable distributions.
ProcessModel also delivers detailed reports of simulated models to support calculated decision-making. These reports include:
-
Identifies areas within the model where users should focus on achieving significant improvements.
-
Shows what adds value and efficiency to the process.
-
Compares all proposed options on a single page.
-
Reports on resource and entity costs
